Dear Delta and Alpha Colleagues, Friends, and Prospective Supporters:

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (DST) was founded on January 13, 1913 at Howard University to promote academic excellence and provide assistance to those in need. Since the founding more than 200,000 women have joined the organization through the 1,000 collegiate and alumnae chapters worldwide. DST provides an extensive array of public service through our Five Point Program Thrust: Educational Development, Economic Development, InternationalAwareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was established as an intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity at Cornell University on December 4, 1906. Since its inception, the members of Alpha Phi Alpha have strived to contribute to the community. Through the national community help program “Go to High School, Go to College”, fraternity members have emphasized the importance of completing secondary and postsecondary education as a road to advancement.

Together, the local chapters of the two national organizations, Las Vegas Alumnae Chapter (LVAC) and Theta Pi Lambda (TPL), are collaborating on an event to benefit at-risk and disadvantaged youth in Southern Nevada through their individual youth groups. LVAC and TPL serve over 200 youth annually and provide targeted services designed to increase access to and completion of college programs.

Youth participate in year-round programming consisting of mentoring, academic and personal counseling, tutoring, college exam prep, college planning, college visits, civic engagement, and assistance completing college admissions, scholarship, and financial aid applications. For seven consecutive years, over 95% percent of served seniors have graduated from high schools and enrolled in various colleges throughout the country.

To support these efforts, LVAC and TPL, in conjunction with the Nevada L.E.A.D.S. Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit affiliate of the latter chapter, would like to invite you to our “Fire & Ice Soiree” Scholarship Fundraiser to be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the Suncoast Hotel & Casino. This year our organizational goals are to eclipse the previous amount of scholarships awarded to high school graduates and financial support for college preparatory programming. Please help us to continue this great tradition by participating as a sponsor and/or purchasing an ad in the official Fire & Ice Digital Souvenir Journal. Click on the links below for the forms and online payment link.

The tax identification number for the Nevada L.E.A.D.S. Foundation is 88-0408138. A portion of contributions made to the Theta Pi Lambda Foundation are tax deductible (consult with personal tax preparer).

Should you require any additional information, please feel free to contact Constance T. Jackson at 702.469.5565 or Michael Blow at 240.508.8095 or tplfoundationlv@gmail.com. We would greatly appreciate your support!
