Dear Delta and Alpha Colleagues, Friends, and Community Supporters:
For more than a century, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated have remained steadfast in their commitment to educational excellence, leadership development, community service, and advocacy.
Founded on January 13, 1913, at Howard University, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has a long-standing legacy of promoting academic achievement and providing service to those in need. Through its Five-Point Programmatic Thrust—Educational Development, Economic Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement—the organization continues to make a lasting impact in communities worldwide.
Established on December 4, 1906, at Cornell University, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was founded on the principles of scholarship, fellowship, good character, and the uplifting of humanity. Through initiatives such as Go to High School, Go to College, Alpha Phi Alpha has consistently encouraged young people to pursue higher education as a pathway to personal growth, opportunity, and success.
Together, the Las Vegas Alumnae Chapter (LVAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the Theta Pi Lambda Chapter (TPL) of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. positively impact the lives of more than 200 young people throughout Southern Nevada each year through comprehensive college-preparatory and leadership-development programs. Participants benefit from year-round mentoring, tutoring, academic and personal counseling, standardized test preparation, college planning assistance, campus visits, civic engagement opportunities, and support with college admissions, scholarship, and financial aid applications. The results are inspiring. For seven consecutive years, more than 95 percent of participating seniors have graduated from high school and enrolled in colleges and universities across the nation.
To sustain and expand these life-changing programs, LVAC and TPL, in partnership with the Nevada L.E.A.D. Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization affiliated with Theta Pi Lambda Chapter, cordially invite you to support our annual...
